“Ezdan World” ... First flagship brand of Ezdan Holding in the tourism and recreation sector
During a press conference, Ezdan Holding Group has announced the launch of "Ezdan World Company", which will be specialized in tourism and recreation sector. The Group has set the new company's strategy to own modern projects in tourism and recreation, with the aim to better serve the Qatari society aspiring to innovative ideas and projects. The Group is keen to emphasize its commitment towards the renaissance of the community and diversify its investments in line with excellence standards.
Ezdan Holding Group has stated earlier it has increased its stake in the "Magical Festival Village" project to become 70% of the capital of the Company of total value of assets is nearly QAR32 mn.
Ezdan Holding Group CEO Mr. Ali Mohammed Al-Obaidli confirmed, on the sidelines of the press conference held in Ezdan Hotel West Bay, that the company began its activity to manage the operations of "Magical Festival Village" project, which is the first of its kind as entertainment destination in Qatar, sprawling on an area of 50,000 sqm within the “Cultural Village Katara”, in a move to expand the Group’s investment in the recreation sector and promote tourism and shopping industry within the country.
Al-Obaidli pointed out:” Our keenness to strongly participate in this project stems from a vision based on the integration of sectors in which the Group is pumping investments that target meeting individual needs and supporting domestic sectors that highlight the true picture of the state of Qatar. In addition, the Group's strategy aims at serving the community and providing all requirements of entertainment and shopping in a unique family atmosphere. Our participation in this sector is based on our unwavering commitment to our social responsibility to provide adequate and top notch entertainment and tourism hub for the public and honor the country’s social and cultural values; a milestone to be added to the series of successes accomplished by the Group in this sector in Qatar over the past years. "
He explained that the project aims to stimulate activity of Qatar incomers, as well as retail and shopping sector. The project will contribute in transforming the country into a regional melting point, in which people can enjoy shopping and entertainment at once. It will attract tourists from around the world, especially from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), especially that its opening coincides with wonderful weather in the year. The village features a unique design, in which the European countryside architecture is blended with the Qatari character, creating an enchanting and unique environment.
Magical Festival Village…A Typical Idea
In this regard, Ezdan World Company General Manager Mr. Abdulaziz Al Mohannadi said: “Magical Festival Village is a new and unique idea, as well as it has diverse objectives. It stands out for being seasonal, as the Village’s events start at a time when weather cools down in Qatar, making it a highly demanded tourist attraction in the Gulf region. The Magical Festival Village aims at increasing rates of tourists coming to visit Qatar in light of facilitations provided by the state to the hospitality sector in general, and tourist visas procedures in particular. Based on that, we are striving to include the Village within the must visit tourist attractions in the country.”
He added that the multifaceted nature of the project lies in the fact that it is an entertainment destination with interactive and cultural aspects, which promotes tourism and shopping, thanks to its 400 retail outlets showcasing worldwide goods. In addition to that, the Village boasts of various show venues and festive programs that must be appealing to both children and adults. He continued explaining: “our previous season’s success led us to further develop the Village services. Our initial inauguration was very promising with a turnout of more than 19,000 people amongst nationals, residents and tourists during weekends alone.”
Al Mohannadi stressed that the allocated play areas and show halls, introduced for the first time in Qatar, have been designed according to the latest modern technology standards. The Village aspires to be an internationally renowned destination through attracting world-class experts in the field of tourism and entertainment to work with the Company.
Ezdan World…A Season Full of Achievements
The program during the last season of the “Magical Festival Village” included numerous festive events attended by a large audience, international artists, and received tremendous positive responses from the public. This year, Ezdan World Company is expecting a rise in the number of visitors, thanks to the larger events program this season, the completion of all services and facilities, as well as the acclaimed reputation the Village has acquired.
It should be noted that the sectors of entertainment and shopping preoccupy a large share within Ezdan Holding Group’s investment portfolio, right after real estate. The Group seeks a complementary strategy in its investments to meet the diverse needs of the public and community. Therefore, to achieve this end Ezdan Holding Group ventured in the entertainment sector since 2013. The Group launched its first ventures in this sector through malls, which achieved unprecedented success. Since Ezdan has always been keen, in all its entertainment projects, to transform its malls into centres of interactive activities, through a variety of events ranging from fun awareness campaigns to recreational initiatives. By the dawn of 2016, Ezdan Holding Group announced three more projects within the entertainment sector, “Magical Village Festival” being the first, which will provide a pioneering experience in entertainment and shopping.
The Village will open its gates from the beginning of winter, until the end of spring, seven days a week, to receive the largest possible number of visitors. Ezdan World Company is expected to announce the events program and the names of international VIP visitors before the beginning of the season.
