Ezdan Holding Group organizes a seminar on Civil Defense Laws for its employees
Ezdan Holding Group has organized an internal seminar in coordination with the General Directorate of Civil Defense (GDCD), attended by a number of employees from the Group’s different departments and sections. The seminar tackled the Civil Defense Law No. 25 of 2015 which addresses occupational safety and security in vital establishments, ensuring regular workflow in public establishments, and protective measures in emergency cases.
The seminar was recently held in Lazurd Hall at Ezdan Hotels, where a variety of topics have been addressed, including the Articles of the aforementioned Law, safety and security requirements and precautions, in addition to the sanctions and penalties that may result due to violating laws and provisions during emergencies. Coordination procedures with the Civil Defense to ensure the correct application of general safety plans and precautions in the establishments were also discussed during the seminar.
Ezdan Holding Group CEO, Mr. Ali Mohamed Al Obaidli said that Ezdan is committed to the State laws related to safety standards, and keen to collaborate with the Civil Defense in this regard with the aim to reach an optimal application of the protective procedures when risks arise and spreading awareness on how to deal with emergencies and precautions to be made to protect lives and properties.
Ezdan Holding Group CEO confirmed that the introduction of Civil Defense Laws is an integral part of the Group endeavors to achieve the set goals of Qatar vision 2030. The vision that focuses on human development and aims at building an advanced and prosperous society through spreading security, safety and social welfare values among all citizens and expats in the State of Qatar.
He added that the meeting came within the framework of the Group’s social responsibility, as Ezdan has always been keen on establishing strong ties with all competent bodies, especially the governmental, to join hands towards achieving common national goals. Moreover, the Group focuses on its policies that target its cadre skill development in the fields of their expertise and in other vital areas relevant to their activities such as occupational safety and risk management.
It is worth mentioning that the Group has recently organized a series of training workshops on safety and crisis management. More than 600 employees attended these workshops that were coached by experts in safety procedures and risk management. The workshops witnessed the presence of officials from the Human Resources, Security & Safety, Engineering and Food Departments, which are the concerned bodies with improving safety means within the workplace.
The Group has previously announced that it would allocate QAR1 million annually for 4 consecutive years from 2015 to 2018, a total contribution of QAR4 million, for sponsoring the “Darb Al-Aman” program of the General Directorate of Civil Defense that aims at promoting the GDCD’s efforts in spreading awareness and the culture of security and safety within the community.
