Corporate Governance
Since the Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) issued its Corporate Governance Code in January 2009, Ezdan Holding Group has sought to comply fully with all corporate governance rules and guidelines set out in the Code.
The continuous improvement of corporate governance standards and ongoing refinement of best practices are among the Group management’s foremost objectives. We therefore make every effort to review and improve oversight and controls across the Group’s operations to strengthen sound corporate governance practices. We believe this safeguards our success and supports the achievement of our objectives and aspirations, particularly earning the trust of our existing and prospective shareholders and all stakeholders. It also establishes management best practices that uphold accountability and responsibility, founded on integrity and transparency.
The Group pays particular attention to corporate governance principles relating to disclosure and transparency to protect the rights of all classes of shareholders, ensure equitable treatment of all shareholders in respect of their rights and obligations, and uphold ethical and legal standards in business conduct. This supports long-term productivity growth and maximises shareholder value.
To this end, the Group’s Board of Directors has approved the Group’s own Corporate Governance Code, which it is committed to reviewing and updating regularly in accordance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements relating to professional conduct and corporate governance, particularly QFMA directives concerning companies under its supervision. Accordingly, the Group is committed to issuing an annual Corporate Governance Report setting out its rules of professional conduct, corporate values, and other policies and procedures binding on its Board members, employees and advisers. The report conforms to the reporting template set out in the Corporate Governance Code issued by QFMA.
